The 3rd AIAA Press Conference
Debut of "The Flutist" by Chen Yi-Fei in Hong Kong

"The 3rd Asia International Arts and Antiques Fair" (AIAA) press conference was held at The Foreign Correspondents’ Club, Hong Kong, on 27th February, 2008. The event organizer, Paper Communication Exhibition Services Ltd, announced the details of this year’s "Asia International Arts and Antiques Fair", which will be hosted at the AsiaWorld-Expo from 23rd – 26th May 2008.

"Asia International Arts and Antiques Fair" is Asia's largest arts and antiques exhibition. Total gross area of the exhibition venue this year will be expanded up to 10,000sq.m., accommodating more than 150 exhibitors from different countries, including Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Germany, France, Switzerland, the United States, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, etc. The organizer also announced the Greater China Cultural Global Association (GCCGA) as the supporting organization of the event.

Guests attended the press conference include Mr Leung Tin Fu, Managing Director from Paper Communication Exhibition Services; Mr Paul Choi, Project Director of Paper Communication Exhibition Services; Mr George Kaku, Managing Director of Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association Limited; Mrs Alice Chiu, President of the Greater China Culture Global Association; famous artist Ms Karena Lam; Ms Carin van Driel, Cultural Officer of Consulate General of the Netherlands; Mr Alessandro De Pedys, Consul General of Consulate General of Italy; Mr Saeed Hamed Ali Al Junaibi; Consul General from Consulate General of United Arab Emirates; Mr Abdollah Nekounam, Consul General of Consulate General of Iran; Mr Mehmet Raif Karaca, Consul General of Consulate General of Turkey; Ms Catherine Kwai of Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery; Dr Chin Chin Wan, President of Asian Association of Lifelong Learning; Dr Lok Sze Lee, the Founder of Polar Museum Foundation.

During the press conference, "The Flutist" by Chen Yi-fei, renowned Chinese Contemporary Artist, was exhibited for the first time in Hong Kong. “The Flutist”, which is worth US$2.7 million dollars (approximately HK$21million), is one of the last masterpieces of Chen. Chen's paintings have been appraised by the New York Times as "a combination of realism and romanticism"

Mr Paul Choi, Project Director of Paper Communication Exhibition Services said, "AIAA Fairs in Hong Kong in the past two years successfully received great responses and feedbacks among the arts and antiques professionals. It becomes an annual highlight which arts and antiques lovers are longing for every year. For the coming fair, Paper Communication Exhibition Services intends to enhance the scale and quality of the AIAA fair. Besides, we have formed a professional exhibit examination committee, which is responsible for verifying all of the exhibits. The exhibits cannot pass the verification examination will be rejected immediately."
