The 3rd Asia International Arts & Antiques Fair (AIAA2008) and Asia International Contemporary Arts Fair Guangzhou Press Conference was held at Dong Fang Hotel on 1st April 2008. Paper Communication Exhibition Services, fair organizer, announced the details of The 3rd Asia International Arts & Antiques Fair (AIAA2008) and Asia International Contemporary Arts Exhibition during the event. "AIAA2008"and "AICA" will be held from 23rd to 26th May 2008, at the Asia World-Expo.
"AIAA2008"and "AICA" Press Conference guest speakers included Mr. Paul Choi, Project Director of Paper Communication Exhibition Services; Mr. George Kaku, Managing Director of Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association; Mr. David Lee, Sales Manage of Guangdong Xunzhan Convention & Exhibition Ltd; Mr.Jiangheng, famous artist. Mr. George Kaku, the guest speaker, related the road of the “AIAA” willing walk in the future. He introduced AIAA2008 and the latest news of the AIAA2008 Press Conferences were held in Shanghai and Beijing. The other guest also related the trend of contemporary arts development.
"Asia International Arts and Antiques Fair" is Asia's largest arts and antiques exhibition and provide a platform for arts and antiques lovers and collectors. Total gross area of the exhibition venue this year will be expanded up to 10,000sq.m., accommodating more than 150 exhibitors from different countries, including Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Germany, France, Switzerland, the United States, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, etc. "Asia International Contemporary Arts Exhibition " is organized by Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association Limited and Basear Arts Center.
The organizer will organize various events in order to match with AIAA and promote the arts and cultural development.
1. Award the ARTFRUIT CUP during “Asia International Contemporary Arts Exhibition”
The activity aim to promote contemporary art and modern art, train a new generation of artists, as well as select contemporary artists. In accordance with the spirit of ARTFRUIT DECLARATION, "Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association "is to award the ARTFRUIT CUP during the opening ceremony of [Asia International Contemporary Arts Exhibition] and [Asia International Arts & Antiques Fair]. The ARTFRUIT CUP includes:
- Award of Arts Achievement
- Award of Outstanding Arts Contribution
- Award of Outstanding Arts Promotion
- Award of Outstanding Arts Collector
- Award to Winners of Arts Competition welcoming Olympic 2008
- Award to excellent Artists of Arts Competition welcoming Olympic 2008
2. ['Arts Fancy-Free' Arts Competition Welcoming The Olympic Games]
In view of the forthcoming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, you are encouraged to use your creativity and embody the themes and values central to the Olympic Games to create an artwork. The judging Committee is composed of social well-known experts and Shanghai Artist Association and Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association. The finals and the Award Presentation Ceremony will be held at AIAA. All the entrants will be exhibited and sold.
3. The precious paint: "The Flutist" by Chen Yi-fei
"The Flutist" by Chen Yi-fei, renowned Chinese Contemporary Artist, was exhibited for the first time in Hong Kong. “The Flutist”, which is worth US$2.7 million dollars (approximately HK$21million), is one of the last masterpieces of Chen. Chen's paintings have been appraised by the New York Times as "a combination of realism and romanticism.”

Mr. Paul Choi, Project Director of Paper Communication Exhibition Service said, "AIAA Fairs in Hong Kong in the past two years successfully received great responses and feedbacks among the arts and antiques professionals. It becomes an annual highlight which arts and antiques lovers are longing for every year. Mr. George Kaku, Managing Director of Asia International Contemporary Arts Promotion Association emphasized: For the coming fair, we intend to enhance the scale and quality of the AIAA fair, from scale to overall design style; from exhibits quality to promotional tactics. Besides, we have formed a professional exhibit examination committee, which is responsible for verifying all of the exhibits. The exhibits cannot pass the verification examination will be rejected immediately."
With the success of the past two years, AIAA 2008 aims to strive for excellence by providing quality exhibition environment.
